INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our Trophy Guide for Morsels! This is a stylish, creature-collecting roguelike from the Toronto-based dev studio Furcula. You, a mouse, start a run in the sewers, traversing the various Chapters / Biomes until finally facing off against the final boss. However, you don’t fight as the mouse, but collect Morsels to fight for you instead. You can have three Morsels active at any time and swap between them instantaneously. With 15 Morsels in total, each with different attacks and characteristics, the game offers variety and replayability.

Guide Estimates

The guide estimates a completion time of 30 hours and a total of 25 playthroughs. Since Morsels is a roguelike, these numbers are very subjective. Depending on your luck with certain patterns in Challenge Rooms, your platinum time may vary.

As for the number of playthroughs, you won’t need 25 full runs. In theory, you only need two or three complete run clears depending on your approach, but you will need many more partial runs through the game for the various miscellaneous and cumulative trophies.

Disclaimer: It is heavily recommended to have a subscription to PS+. While the game itself is easy to complete without the need for save scumming, there are a few trophies that not only require some setup but also a lot of luck for their requirements to be completed. Without the option to back up saves, you are looking at potentially dozens more hours for the platinum!

Mouse Hub

When you start a new game, you’ll find yourself in a room with a strange creature in the background. From here, you have two options. You can start a new run by entering the sewers through the right entrance, or you can go to your hub through the left one.

In the hub, you can interact with the following items:

  • Barbell: While there are various difficulty options available in Morsels, they do not affect trophies at all. Soft Cheese and Hard Cheese are unlocked from the start, while clearing Hard Cheese unlocks the first Cheese Nightmare difficulty. Higher Nightmare difficulties can then be unlocked by clearing the game on the previous difficulty.
  • Morsel Statues: Whenever you complete a Challenge Room perfectly with a specific Morsel for the first time, that Morsel’s figurine will be added to your hub. You need to collect all 15 figurines for They’re Not Dolls. You can have some fun bumping into them to move them around!
  • Arcade Machines: You unlock these two machines in the hub by visiting Peppa. This makes it more convenient to hunt for high scores in the two corresponding Arcade games without needing to back up your save for repeated attempts at the corresponding NPC.
  • Guidebook: This book can also be accessed from the pause menu. Here, you can see which Morsels you have collected, your high score in each Challenge Room, which trophies you’ve earned and, very importantly, which of the six weapons you’ve collected a star for.
  • Toenun Mother: By passing through a hidden passage at the bottom of the room, you can visit the Toenuns’ mother. She has lost her eight Toenun children and will hint at the locations of the missing ones.

Gameplay Overview

Morsels is a run-based roguelike. You start a new run from the sewers, with the goal of reaching and defeating the (true) final boss. A run is structured as follows:

ChapterStagesSecret Area
1 – Big City3 Stages + Baron FightThe Lab
2 – Trash City3 Stages + Baron FightSoft City
3 – Marshes1 StageFrog Statue
4 – Backwoods3 Stages + Baron FightFrog Temple / Pippa’s House
5 – Heaven3 Stages + Pink Baron FightThe Moon
6 – Cosmos (needs unlocking)1 Stage + Cosmic Cat Fight

After every Stage except the ones in Chapter 3 – Marshes and Chapter 6 – Cosmos, you’ll encounter a random NPC offering you two options. You must select one of them to continue. Before speaking with the NPC, you can choose to “Save & Exit” your run from the options menu, allowing you to resume it at a later point or make a back-up save. These will come in handy for trophy cleanup.

Note that these NPC rooms are the only places where you can exit your run without losing your progress. Quitting the run any other way – for example, by dashboarding – will cause you to lose all of your current progress.

During a Stage, you can come across various types of special rooms:

  • Shops, marked with a green sign above the entrance. Here, you can trade cheese for the various items on offer.
  • Challenge Rooms, marked with a red “M” above the entrance. The challenge inside depends on the Morsel you enter the room with, and clearing all 15 available Challenge Rooms with a perfect 100/100 score is required for They’re Not Dolls.
  • Loot Rooms, marked with a question mark. Inside, you might encounter either a room filled with objects to destroy, rewarding you with cheese, XP, and possibly a Fuzzie, or a short navigation challenge with a purple Wishing Star as the reward.

Items, Morbs, Fuzzies

During a run, you use collected Morsels to fight against the various enemies and bosses. Each Morsel has an XP bar and, when filled, evolves into a stronger variant. However, should the Morsel gain enough XP to fill the bar a second time, it will retire, leaving behind an empty slot and a Morsel-specific upgrade.

While Morsels themselves cannot become much stronger as the run progresses, there are other systems in place to increase your power:

  • Items: These can be purchased from shops and alter fundamental aspects of gameplay. Besides items that improve general gameplay, there is also one Morsel-specific item for each Morsel that enhances its special attack.
  • Morbs: Each Morsel spawns with one Morb and gains a second one when it evolves. There are four categories of Morbs, which determine when the Morb takes effect, with many specific Morbs within each category:
    • Crit Morb – These morbs triger on a critical hit.
    • Hurt Morb – These morbs are triggered by taking damage.
    • Dash Morb – These trigger while dashing.
    • Pickup Morb – These morbs take effect upon picking up the Morsel, or when the Morsel evolves.
  • Fuzzies: These are the colored orbs that you can collect either after spawning a new Morsel or from the two hands usually found near a Stage’s exit. Each new Fuzzie improves a specific stat:
  • Increases speed
  • Improves dash
  • Increases crit rate
  • Improves Daisy effect
  • Improves luck
  • Damaging leaves upon taking damage
  • Improves super attack
  • Turns enemies into tofu blocks

TROPHY ROADMAP

Step 1: Complete a (perfect) run

The first thing you should attempt is to clear a run on either of the two available difficulties. Every trophy can be earned on the lowest difficulty, Soft Cheese, so the choice of difficulty is only a matter of preference.

You should aim to defeat the four bosses with a “Perfect”; that is, without taking damage to your hearts. If you don’t manage this on your first run through the game, you can either attempt it during a separate run or combine it with one of the runs in the next steps.

Step 2: Unlock and defeat the Cosmic Cat

The next step is to unlock and defeat the true final boss: Cosmic Cat. To unlock the fight, you must collect four card fragments hidden in secret locations. The reason we don’t collect these card fragments during the previous step is that traversing some of these locations skips bosses, making an all-“Perfect” run impossible.

Once you’ve collected all four card fragments (they do not need to be collected in the same run), defeating Baron Pink at the end of Chapter 5 won’t end the run. Instead, you’ll move on to Chapter 6 – Cosmos, where you’ll face Cosmic Cat after a short stage.

Step 3: Starting Morsel Speedrun!

Now that you are familiar with the game, you should attempt a run with only your starting Morsel. You can combine this run with visiting Peppa, which requires bringing the Bus Ticket all the way to Chapter 4, and, since you are running straight to the exit with the ticket, attempt to beat the game in under 25 minutes.

While you are running with one Morsel only, save up your money in case you encounter The Heron NPC as well.

You can always do these trophies in separate runs if they seem too much of a hassle to complete together.

Step 4: Run-related clean-up

It is now time for the various miscellaneous, run-related trophies, such as killing enemies with traps, collecting all Toenuns, destroying 9,999 litter, and collecting enough XP to reach progress level 29 and unlock all morbs. Chances are that you have already unlocked some of these trophies.

You can try to combine multiple trophies in the same run – for example, getting the Frog Crown, having three of the same Morsels, and eating a Baron in the same run when you encounter Fairies that transform your Morsels into Frugsel – though it is unlikely to save you too much time. Destroying enough litter or unlocking all morbs will most likely still require a few runs through the game after you’ve completed all other run-related challenges.

Step 5: General clean-up

For the final step, there are still a few things to clean up. Besides reaching a high score in the two available Arcade games, you’ll have to complete all 15 Challenge Rooms with a perfect 100/100 score. This will be the most challenging trophy to earn in Morsels, but once you manage it, you’ll have unlocked the shiny Platinum Trophy!

Baron Wasteland

Defeat Baron Pink

Baron Pink is the fourth (and regular final) boss found at the end of Chapter 5 – Heaven. Similar to the bosses leading up to him, Baron Pink has two different versions, but both are relatively simple to defeat (especially on Soft Cheese and Hard Cheese difficulty).

Version 1: Baron Pink transforms into a giant brain-octopus. He creates shrinking circles of electricity around your Morsel that you can dash out of. He also spawns small octopuses around himself, so make sure to keep your distance to avoid taking damage.

Version 2: This version of Baron Pink resembles a large brain made up of spheres. Pink spheres continuously circle around the boss, with their radius expanding and shrinking periodically. Additionally, Baron Pink continuously spews out small star particles that damage you on contact. You can make use of your AoE attacks to get rid of them.

All Hail the Cosmic Mouse

Defeat the Cosmic Cat

The Cosmic Cat is the true final boss and needs to be unlocked before you can face it. To unlock the battle against the Cosmic Cat, you need to collect four card fragments. You can collect these fragments across as many runs as you want, and once unlocked, the Cosmic Cat will always be the final boss of subsequent runs.

Note: You will only unlock this fight on the difficulty you collect the card fragmentson!

The four required card fragments are hidden in the following locations:

Card fragment [1/4] – The Lab

Please refer to What’s Through Here? for how to reach The Lab.

The Lab is a labyrinth, and to exit it, you must find and defeat the large Rat at its center. The first card fragment is tucked away in the maze, inside a large bottle that you can shoot.

Card piece [2/4] – Soft City

Please refer to Run, Chicken! for how to reach Soft City.

While completing the chase sequence in Soft City, you’ll come across a large pink ball. Destroy it to reveal the card fragment.

Card piece [3/4] – The Inside

Please refer to Mmm… Smells Good! for how to reach the Inside.

Once you find yourself in the Inside of the Adder, look for a side path with a fleshy blob at its end. Shoot it to reveal the card fragment.

Card piece [4/4] – The Moon

Please refer to How Are They Breathing? for how to reach the Moon.

Once you are on The Moon, you need to follow a series of side paths and sewer entrances to reach a large asteroid. The final card fragment will be next to it.

Once you have collected all four card fragments, a run won’t end upon defeating Baron Pink. Instead, you’ll continue through a new, single-stage area in Chapter 6 – Cosmos. This area is littered with laser traps that start moving horizontally or vertically once you get too close. Your goal is to find the giant ball of cheese, and upon interacting with it, you’ll begin the battle against the Cosmic Cat.

The fight against the Cosmic Cat is as straightforward as the previous boss battles, but it consists of two separate phases.

Phase 1: In this phase, the giant Cosmic Cat sits at the top of the screen. Rows of red stars slowly fall from the top, while the Cosmic Cat attacks from the sides with its paws. The attacks are well telegraphed.

Phase 2: Upon defeating the Cosmic Cat, the screen transitions. During the second phase, you face two independent asteroid-like entities. These cover the screen with various patterns of red bullets that you must avoid. Additionally, you need to pay attention to a shrinking circle of cat angels. Yes, it is as weird as it sounds.

Acquire the Frog Crown

Acquiring the Frog Crown is a multi-step process, and requires a bit of luck. You need Fairies to spawn before Chapter 3.

Step 1: Collect Frugsel before reaching Chapter 3. Please consult A Little of Everything on how to get Frugsel.

Step 2: Once in Chapter 3, find the frog-shaped temple and swap to Frugsel: a path will open, and you can grab a key from inside the temple.

Step 3: Proceed to Chapter 4. In one of the Chapter 4 stages, at the end of a long path usually protected by plenty of traps, you’ll find a round altar that reveals a path inside if you bring the key. Inside is a secret boss made of eyeballs. Defeat it, and the Frog Crown is yours!

A Little of Everything

Play as every Morsel

There are 15 Morsels total, and the trophy will unlock once you have played as every single one at least once. Note that you can consult your in-game Guidebook to see which Morsels you have already encountered.

While 13 of the Morsels can be collected from Eggs and Cards, there are two Morsels that you can only get by meeting certain conditions.

Frugsel

During a run, there is a chance of green Fairies spawning in any stage. These Fairies spawn endlessly and attack your Morsel with red, ranged attacks. However, they can also shoot a green cloud. If your Morsel is hit by it, it will transform into Frugsel.

Frugsel has slow movement, but can eat most enemies with only one or two tongue attacks.

Note: Note that having all three Morsels be transformed into Frugsel grants the trophy Favouritism.

Gosel

To collect Gosel, you need to find a specific item: the Ghostly Cassette. There are three ways to acquire one:

  1. Purchase it from a shop.
  2. Destroy the special television with a fleshy eye.
  3. Obtain it through an NPC. This one appears towards the end of a run and gives you a choice between a Furcula or the Ghostly Cassette.

With the Ghostly Cassette in your inventory, let any Morsel be defeated. Gosel, a ghost-like Morsel, will take its place!

Gosel can traverse walls and float over pits, but lacks any meaningful offensive power.

They’re Not Dolls!

Get a perfect score in every Challenge Room

This is the toughest trophy to earn by a large margin.

In Chapter 1, Chapter 2 and Chapter 4, one of the three stages always contains a room marked with a red “M”. These are the Challenge Rooms, and the challenge waiting inside depends on the Morsel you enter the room with.

Despite the Challenges being different for each Morsel, the goal is always the same: score as many points as possible. Getting a perfect score, as per the trophy description, requires earning 100/100 points with all 15 Morsels (Lidsel, despite being added to the game post-launch, is required as well).

You should try to clear Challenge Rooms perfectly during your regular runs, though it is unlikely that you will have cleared them all by the time you unlock all other run-based trophies. For the Morsels that you are missing, proceed as follows to make the clean-up easier:

  1. Start a new run and make your way through Chapter 1. Try to find a Morsel with which you haven’t cleared the Challenge Room yet.
    • If you find one such Morsel in Chapter 1-1 or Chapter 1-2, and you haven’t come across the Challenge Room yet (meaning it will spawn in Chapter 1-3), make a back-up save at the NPC after Chapter 1-2.
    • Otherwise, continue through Chapter 1-3 (try to find a Morsel you need there) and defeat the Chapter 1 boss.
  2. Make a back-up save before entering Chapter 2. If the Challenge Room doesn’t spawn in Chapter 2-1, you can keep restoring your save until you get a Morsel you need in Chapter 2-1 (the offered Morsels after defeating the “shadow Morsel” are not determined by the seed, but are randomized each time).
  3. Once you have a Morsel you need, make a back-up save before entering Chapter 2-2. If the Challenge Room is there, you can keep restoring your save and attempting the Challenge Room. If it isn’t, make the back-up save before entering Chapter 2-3, where the Challenge Room will spawn.

The reason I suggest preparing this back-up in Chapter 1 or 2 is that the layouts are easier to navigate. In Chapter 4, there are plenty of traps and enemies to slow you down, making the run back to the Challenge Room more frustrating than it needs to be.

There are two exceptions though: Gosel and Frugsel.

  • For Gosel, run through the game until you find the Ghostly Cassette, preferably before Chapter 4. Then make a back-up save in Chapter 4 before the stage with the Challenge Room. Since Gosel can move through walls, navigating Chapter 4 with him is easy.
    • If you don’t find the Ghostly Cassette within the first two Chapters, reset your run and try again.
  • For Frugsel, run through the first two Chapters. If Fairies spawn, let one of your Morsels transform into Frugsel. If you haven’t come across the Challenge Room in that Chapter, make a back-up save right before the stage with the Challenge Room. If you have, move on to Chapter 4 and prepare the back-up save there.
    • If you don’t encounter Fairies within Chapter 1 or 2, reset your run and try again.
All Challenge Rooms

Gummsel: Targets spawn in groups of three and move through the room in random patterns. The spawn rate increases toward the end of the challenge. You need to let Gummsel’s attack recharge, so always try to hit the target groups in bursts of three to four shots, then stop shooting to recharge for the next group.

Widsel: Single targets traverse the room from different directions. However, all targets pass through the center of the screen, so you should try to stay close to the center and avoid moving long distances. The challenge starts with individual targets spawning, but the number of targets spawning simultaneously increases as the challenge progresses.
Note: Unfortunately, the footage for this challenge doesn’t have any sound. Apologies!

Smugsel: Stationary targets spawn in groups of three, forcing Smugsel to run around hitting them with melee attacks. Note that blue targets despawn faster than red ones and should be prioritized. Spike balls also spawn as time passes, making it more challenging to navigate the room safely. You can punch the spike balls to create space, and this won’t hurt Smugsel.

Fleesel: Targets spawn all around the room while Fleesel is chased by ghost insects. As more insects spawn, try to move in circles around the arena to group the enemies and make them easier to avoid. Also note that Fleesel’s projectiles pierce targets, allowing you to hit multiple targets with a single shot if they line up. If there are too many targets on-screen, don’t hesitate to use Fleesel’s special attack!

Bamsel: This challenge is very straightforward. Blue targets spawn, surrounded by an expanding and shrinking circle of red targets. Wait for the circle to shrink, then shoot the cluster with a bomb.

Uggsel: This challenge might seem daunting, but the target patterns are always the same. The trick is to charge your shots by holding down the corresponding directional button. Stay in the center and charge a shot to the right. Wait for the targets to align, then release, ideally destroying all targets with a single shot. Grab the ball and prepare a charged shot to the left. Repeat these two shots with the next groups of targets on the right and left.
The end of the challenge features a larger group of rotating targets anchored at the center of the room. Try to wait for the targets to align, but don’t waste too much time. Note that this challenge has 101 targets, so you can still clear it perfectly even if you miss one red target!

Lifsel: This challenge requires some luck, as not only do you need to quickly move around the room hitting all groups of targets, but you also need to avoid the negative targets with a red cross, as they deduct one point.
The target triples move along the edges of the room. Ideally, you want to hit a group before it reaches the center of the edge, giving you more time to reposition for the next group. With bad spawns, this challenge cannot be completed perfectly, so you might have to retry a few times.

Zigsel: This is a straightforward challenge. You don’t need to worry about the small green targets, as they chase Zigsel and do not despawn. They are automatically destroyed by Zigsel’s trail.
As for the blue targets, they can also be destroyed by the trail, but you need to be quick, as they do despawn. Alternatively, you can actively shoot them. You’ll need to experiment with the direction you need to press, though: do not try to press the direction from Zigsel’s point of view, but instead relative to Zigsel’s trail. If you do it correctly, yellow projectiles will form from Zigsel’s trail and hit the blue target you’re aiming for.

Shromsel: This is arguably one of the most luck-based and challenging rooms to clear perfectly. Shromsel is chained to the center of the room and uses his mushrooms to destroy targets that enter the room from all sides. There are three types of targets: red ones travel through the room and can be destroyed with a single hit, blue ones linger at the edges, and green-blue ones travel through the room like the red ones but need to be hit multiple times to shatter.
The first 50 targets are quite easy to destroy, as both the movement speed and spawn rate are relatively low. Make sure not to miss any sneaky blue targets obscured by the UI, especially in the lower-left and upper-left corners.
The challenge becomes much more chaotic and unpredictable during the second half. Targets now spawn in larger numbers and traverse the screen much faster. You need to cluster your mushrooms whenever one of the durable targets spawns, while also keeping an eye out for blue targets at the edges. Try to keep a few mushrooms in reserve whenever possible. Depending on the trajectory of certain targets, it is very easy to miss a durable target or lose a red target while chasing a durable one. Keep throwing yourself at the challenge, and you’ll eventually get a favorable pattern.

Crotsel: The challenge can be confusing, but is actually very simple. With Crotsel, you need to wait for a blue target to spawn, shoot it with your regular attack, then use Crotsel’s special attack to grow a large plant. This will destroy the blue target, as well as any green targets that fly into it.
The only thing you need to worry about is being fast enough once a blue target spawns, as your special attack needs to recharge between uses, and the spawn rate of blue targets increases as the challenge progresses.

Pebsel: Possibly the easiest challenge to complete. All targets are on-screen from the very beginning. Dash around the room, starting with the edges and moving toward the center to complete the challenge. Prioritize blue targets, as they are the first ones to start despawning.

Frugsel: How this challenge works exactly is a bit unclear. It seems there is a limit to how many targets can be on-screen at the same time, and targets stop spawning after a while. This means that, in order to have a chance at destroying 100 targets, you need to be quick enough to keep the number of active targets below the spawn limit so that all 100 targets can spawn in the first place.
Make sure to dash after groups of targets, but not into them, as they will damage Frugsel. The spike balls can also be pushed away with Frugsel’s tongue. Prioritize speed until you have destroyed around 50–60 targets. After that, you can slow down and play more safely, as targets don’t despawn.

Gosel: The difficulty in this trial comes from Gosel having only one hit point. If you get hit by one of the hoaming green targets at any point, you fail the challenge.
Otherwise, this challenge is pretty straightforward. Large blue targets spawn periodically, while small green targets chase Gosel. The latter do not despawn, but the blue ones do. However, you cannot destroy the blue targets by shooting them directly. Instead, Gosel’s attack must first pass through a green target before hitting the blue one. It is therefore a game of correct positioning while staying alive.

Hoggsel: Together with Shromsel’s challenge, this is arguably the most luck-based and frustrating challenge to complete. Hoggsel, like during regular gameplay, has a limited lifespan. The challenge is thus timer-based, and you need to reach 100 points before time runs out. This means constantly dashing to save time wherever possible, but dashing chaotically can cost you the run if you miss targets along the way. Only dash toward a target if it is far away to shorten the distance quickly, or if you have a series of targets spread out in a straight line in front of Hoggsel.
You will likely need to attempt this challenge a few times until you eventually get a favorable spawn pattern and can complete it before Hoggsel dies. Even with a favorable pattern, the timer is very tight.

Lidsel: While the challenge might seem annoying at first, it is actually quite simple. Similar to Lifsel’s challenge, the goal is to destroy all red and blue targets while avoiding the negative targets with a red cross, which deduct one point. However, note that during this challenge, blue targets always traverse the screen vertically, while red targets move horizontally. Knowing this, you should try to stay stationary whenever possible, moving only Lidsel’s hat to fish for the targets while prioritizing the blue ones, as they travel a shorter distance before disappearing. You might have to reposition if the negative targets spawn unfavorably or to avoid taking damage from the spike balls, but try to avoid chaotic movement, as it is very easy to lose control and hit a negative target by accident.

Get 6363 points in Squeak Gnaw Evil

Squeak Gnaw Evil is a minigame you can play whenever you encounter a crocodile NPC between levels. However, you will unlock this minigame in your hub (left entrance from the sewers before starting a new run) after visiting Peppa, making it more convenient to hunt for the high score. Please refer to Say Hello to My Little Friend.

Squeak Gnaw Evil – First Place High Score

In this minigame, you control a mouse on a 2D screen with various vertically arranged lanes, and your only option is to move vertically between the lanes, and horizontally. Your goal is to survive the onslaught of enemies approaching from the right while collecting diamonds. Periodically, weapons spawn in random locations, as well as red mines, which should be avoided. You can get hit three times before getting a game over.

The strategy here is to survive as long as possible, even if it means missing a diamond. You should also let the weapons pile up instead of using them right away, as the number of enemies will increase over time, and having weapons lying around can save you in overwhelming situations. Defeating enemies grants points, as does every second that passes. Using a machine gun on a screen filled with enemies will not only help you survive, but also earn you plenty of points, while using it when barely any enemy is present will be a waste of a good offensive option more than anything.

Get 2183 points in Bloody Muridae

Bloody Muridae is a minigame you can play whenever you encounter a broken Arcade Machine between levels. However, you will unlock this minigame in your hub (left entrance from the sewers before starting a new run) after visiting Peppa, making it more convenient to hunt for the high score. Please refer to Say Hello to My Little Friend.

Bloody Muridae – First Place High Score

In this minigame, you control a mouse in a small arena with four goals, one on each side. Your objective is to pick up the periodically spawning diamonds and deliver them to the goal that lights up green once you pick up the diamond.

Enemies spawn periodically and chase the mouse. By using the right analog stick (or the face buttons), you can launch an axe at them. Small enemies are defeated with a single axe throw, while the larger enemies require five hits to go down. Large enemies also leave behind a weapon that, when picked up, creates an AoE attack around the mouse, taking out everything in its vicinity.

While carrying a diamond, you cannot attack, nor can you put the diamond down. Hence, it is important to only pick up a diamond when you have enough space to safely deliver it. If left untouched, a diamond will start to blink and eventually transform into a stationary skull that attacks the mouse when you approach it.

Make sure to prioritize the large enemies, but leave the AoE weapons lying on the floor. They will come in handy in situations where you are carrying a diamond but are about to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies in the arena.

Queso Serious

Go to the Cheese Dream

In order to access the Cheese Dream, you must first collect all three Haunted Cheeses in a single run. One cheese should spawn in each of Chapter 1, 2 and 4, though which one appears where varies between runs. Thus, pay attention to all three while hunting for them!

Haunted Cheese [1/3] – Haunted Gorgonzola

You will need Bamsel (or alternatively Gosel) for this one, so make sure to hold onto one if you find it. Then, you need to find a wall with a red “M”. Bomb the wall to reveal a path leading to the Haunted Gorgonzola.

Haunted Cheese [2/3] – Haunted Camembert

During your run, you’ll eventually run into a panicking cheese body. Chase it down and defeat it to obtain the Haunted Camembert.

Haunted Cheese [3/3] – Haunted Stilton

For the Haunted Stilton, you’ll have to donate three purple Shining Stars to a wishing fountain. Some fountains do not allow the donation of more than one or two Shining Stars, so you might need to try more than one wishing fountain before succeeding.

Once you have all three Haunted Cheeses, a cheesy Ghost will start following you. Make your way to Chapter 5 – Heaven, and while exploring, pay attention to the Ghost. Once you enter a stage and the Ghost’s eyes start going crazy, you are in the correct stage. If possible, switch to a flying Morsel (Fleesel or Gosel) and start looking for a sewer opening seemingly out in the open. The Ghost will then reveal an entrance to the Cheese Dream.

Practice Makes Perfcet

Smash all four Barons’ vehicles in one run

To earn this trophy, you need to defeat all four bosses (including Baron Pink) in the same run with a “Perfect”; that is, without taking damage to your hearts. These are the bosses at the end of Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 5, respectively.

There are two ways to make this easier. You can either hoard Daisies and use them as shields if necessary, or you can try to enable Cheese God mode if you encounter the corresponding NPC. With it enabled, taking damage does not affect your hearts, but instead deducts some Cheese. Taking damage during the boss fights with Cheese God mode enabled does not void the trophy!

Once you have defeated all four bosses with a “Perfect” and destroyed the vehicles that spawn after each fight, the trophy will unlock.

Note: Make sure to choose a route that includes all four bosses. Going to The Lab in Chapter 1, for example, skips the encounter with the Chapter 1 boss.

This Little Piggy

Rescue all of the Toenuns

There are eight Toenuns in total that need rescuing. From within your hub (through the entrance to the left of the sewers before starting a new run), you can talk to the Toenuns’ mother by going through the somewhat hidden passage at the bottom of the screen. There, she will hint at the locations of her lost children.

Toenun [1/8] – Soft City

Please refer to Run, Chicken! for how to reach Soft City.

While progressing through Soft City, watch out for a triangular street sign at the bottom of the screen with a face on it. The Toenun is hiding behind the sign.

Toenun [2/8] – Inside

Please refer to Mmm… Smells Good! for how to reach the Inside.

While progressing through Inside, look for a Toenun hiding within the veiny area that you can walk through.

Toenun [3/8] – Marshes

Marshes is the only stage in Chapter 3. The Toenun here can be hiding anywhere in the tall grass, usually close to the edges of the area.

Toenun [4/8] – Cheese Dream

Please refer to Queso Serious for how to enter Cheese Dream.

In Cheese Dream, look for a small pillar of cheese in the shape of a Toenun and shoot it to reveal the Toenun.

Toenun [5/8] – The Moon

Please refer to How Are They Breathing? for how to reach the Moon.

Once on the Moon, keep an eye out for an asteroid with a pink question mark. You’ll need to destroy it as it flies by, revealing the Toenun.

The most reliable way to deal enough damage to destroy the asteroid is to bring Bamsel with you and bomb it open. If you miss the asteroid, you’ll need to wait for it to complete its orbit and come back. However, there is no time limit here, as the Adder doesn’t spawn on the Moon.

Toenun [6/8] – The Lab

Please refer to What’s Through Here? for how to reach The Lab.

Finding this Toenun is not as simple as going to the Lab. You need to make your way there either as Gosel (consult A Little of Everything on how to get Gosel), or after acquiring the Magic Berry, which allows you to dash through walls. To get the latter, you’ll need a bit of luck, as it can only be acquired from a shop in Chapter 1-2, as a secret item tucked away at the end of a hidden path, or from an NPC before entering Chapter 1-2. Make sure to always bring the Bus Ticket to Chapter 1-2 just in case!

Once you meet these prerequisites, you’ll find the Toenun along one of the edges.

Toenun [7/8] – Chapter 1-3

To find this Toenun, you will have to collect Gosel before finishing Chapter 1. Please consult A Little of Everything on how to get Gosel.

If you want to look for this Toenun specifically, keep resetting your run until you reach Chapter 1-3 as Gosel. Here, you can move through the walls to reach the edge of the level, where you’ll find the Toenun.

Toenun [8/8] – The Adder

The Adder is the giant snake that appears if you spend too much time in a stage. If it catches up to you, it will kill all your Morsels, ending the run instantly.

For this Toenun, you need to find a way to survive the Adder’s attack. The most straightforward way is to get the Furcula item, which lets you survive the attack with a 50% chance. Make sure you have not picked up the Antivenom, or you’ll reach the Inside of the Adder instead.

Once the Adder is dead, go back to the start of the level you are currently in, and the Toenun will be waiting there.

What’s Through Here?

Go to the Lab

To reach the Lab, grab the Bus Ticket in Chapter 1-1 and bring it to Chapter 1-2. There, you’ll be able to ride the bus. You’ll then have to cross a street in a transitional vertical level. Instead of taking the regular exit at the very top, look for the chemical waste entrance halfway through the stage, just before the location of a Morsel card.

Make sure not to leave the Bus Ticket unattended, or it’ll disappear after some time! Deposit it at the exit stairs if you want to continue exploring without having to worry about it.

Run, Chicken!

Go to Soft City

To reach Soft City, find the Remote in Chapter 2-3 by destroying the special purple pod with a Daisy symbol on it, then interact with it. You’ll be sent to Soft City, where you must complete a chase sequence.

Mmm… Smells Good!

Go to the Inside

In order to reach the Inside, you must first find the Treasure Map in Chapter 2. It can be obtained by finding and defeating a Hermit Crab, which reveals a hidden path through a hole upon defeat.

Grab the Treasure Map from the island. Then, once you are in Chapter 4 – Backwoods, look for a clearly marked red cross on the ground and attack it to reveal the Antivenom. Pick it up, then remain in the level until the Adder spawns (it always does if you spend too long in a level). Let it bite you, and you’ll reach the Inside.

How Are They Breathing?

Go to the Moon

You can reach the Moon from Chapter 5. In one of the stages, defeating the enemy guarding the exit ladder will cause a Black Cat to spawn. Defeat it to reveal a ladder leading to the Moon.

Say Hello to My Little Friend

Visit Pippa

To reach Pippa’s location, you must first bring the Bus Ticket from Chapter 1-1 all the way to Chapter 4 – Backwoods. In one of the Chapter 4 stages, you’ll find a ticket reader on the ground. Deposit the Bus Ticket there, and you’ll be grabbed and taken to a transitional level., similar to the transition to The Lab.

At the very top of the level, you’ll find Pippa’s house.

Note that visiting Pippa will unlock the option to play both Arcade Games from your hub left of the sewers entrance!

A Morb in Time…

Unlock the full set of Morbs

After each run, the amount of XP gained by your Morsels during that run is added to a progression bar. This amount is further increased by a multiplier that depends on the difficulty you are playing on.

  1. Soft Cheese: 1.0x multiplier
  2. Hard Cheese: 1.2x multiplier
  3. Cheese Nightmare (1): 1.28x multiplier

Each new level unlocks a morb that is added to the pool of spawnable morbs. The final morb and this trophy are unlocked at level 29.

If you want to speed up the process, you should play on Hard Cheese difficulty and look out for two particular items:

  1. Ring of Trash: Increases the amount of litter lying around.
  2. Golden Nugget: Increases the chance of shiny litter.

With these two items, shoot everything in your way. Make sure to swap your Morsels periodically, as the amount of XP gained through this combination of items is so high that you might retire all your Morsels prematurely.

With this setup, you can easily reach 1,000+ XP within the first four Chapters of the game. Since there is no litter in Chapter 5 (and the map is a pain to navigate without specific Morsels), restart the run once you defeat the Chapter 4 boss and repeat.

You Might Be Good at This Game

Defeat the Cosmic Cat in 25 minutes

Please refer to All Hail the Cosmic Mouse for how to unlock the Cosmic Cat as a boss at the end of Chapter 6.

This is a speedrun-type achievement, and requires you to reach and defeat the Cosmic Cat within 25 minutes of starting a new run.

Note: This trophy might be possitively bugged. It unlocked for me once I unlocked and defeated the Cosmic Cat for the first time, despite the entire run taking approximately an hour.

This might have been triggered by exiting the game before the final fight and resuming later. It is possible that the game keeps track of time spent in your current session only.

Don’t Go Changing

Beat the game with only your starting Morsel

As the description states, you must complete a run from start to finish using only the single Morsel you pick up in the sewers when starting a new run. You are not allowed to pick up any other Morsels along the way, be it from Cards or Eggs.

Your Morsel is allowed to evolve, but make sure not to gain too much XP, or it might retire prematurely.

You can combine this run with Say Hello to My Little Friend. If you do, you can simply run to the exit with the Bus Ticket, killing only the enemies that are absolutely necessary and avoiding unnecessary encounters (and XP).

Still Only Counts as One

Score a Megasnail goal

In Chapter 1-3, there is a chance for rainy weather. If it is raining, there is a chance to encounter a large Snail roaming around the area that offers a new Morsel card. Lead it to the goal and have it pass through to unlock this trophy.

Note that the goal breaks if any snail, large or small, passes through it. Make sure to keep it intact for the Megasnail!

Litter Picker Upper

Break 9999 litter, all time

This trophy is cumulative. You can increase the amount of litter scattered around by picking up the Ring of Trash.

Then it’s just a matter of running through the game and destroying any litter you see lying around until you’ve reached 9,999. A Morsel with long ranged attacks, such as Lifsel, can speed up the grind.

Kids These Daisies

Shoot 20 daisies in a single run

Daisies are flowers that act as shields and can be stacked. Taking damage destroys one Daisy.

To earn this trophy, you need to shoot 20 Daisies in a single run instead of collecting them and using them as shields. In most levels, you can find one Daisy right at the start and another in the top-right corner of the Morsel Arena, where you can collect a new Morsel.

Feed the Bird

Lose 663 Cheese to the Heron

This is best done together with Don’t Go Changing, the run with your starting Morsel only. The Heron is one of the NPCs that can be encountered randomly between stages. If you have multiple Morsels when encountering them, you’ll lose one of your Morsels at random. However, if you encounter them while having only one Morsel, they’ll take your cheese instead.

Save your cheese during the run in the hope of running into the Heron to earn this trophy.

Eat the Rich

Ingest a Baron

This trophy must be earned as Frugsel and requires dealing the final blow against any boss with Frugsel’s tongue. Frugsel will ingest the boss, unlocking the trophy.

You’re Doing Just Fine.

Get 5 ailments on a single Morsel

There are eight possible ailments, and which ailments a Morsel is afflicted with can be seen from the colored clouds next to its card.

  • Choked
  • Deviled
  • Slimed
  • Faded
  • Frog
  • Confused
  • Vulnerable
  • Sleep

Note that the Sleep ailment is incompatible with the other ailments, so seven possible ailments remain. Slimed, Choked, Deviled, and Faded can be obtained from the nose-NPC you visit between Chapters. Note that the offered ailments can repeat themselves, so you may want to create a back-up save before speaking with the NPC and keep reloading until you are offered an ailment you need.

In addition to those end-of-Chapter ailments, you can let one Morsel transform into Frugsel if you encounter the Fairies (see A Little of Everything), or get confused by a purple worm in Chapter 3 – Marshes.

Trap Mouse

Kill enemies with 8 different traps in one run

As the trophy suggests, you are required to lure enemies into eight different types of traps, such as mouse traps, spikes, and so on, and have them be killed by those traps.

Note that while it is not always clear whether a hazard counts as a trap, a distinct sound plays whenever you kill an enemy with a trap, together with some particle effects. Pay close attention and keep track of the number of different traps used.

Once Bitten, Twice Die

Outlive the Adder

The Adder is the giant snake that spawns in any stage if you linger for too long. From the moment it spawns, it will chase your Morsel and, if it catches it, kill it instantly, ending your run.

However, you can outlive it, and you will need to do so in order to collect one of the Toenuns. Please refer to This Little Piggy, Toenun 8/8.

Favouritism

Have 3 of the same Morsel at once

This trophy can be earned with a ton of luck by having the required Morsels hatch from Eggs, or more deliberately. Once you find yourself in a stage with green Fairies and three Morsels collected, let the Fairies transform all your Morsels into Frugsel (see A Little of Everything).

Floral Fixation

Hold 20 Daisies at once

Daisies are flowers that act as shields. To earn this trophy, you need to hold 20 Daisies at once. There are a few ways to achieve this high number:

  • Collect every Daisy you come across and play defensively, avoiding damage.
  • While progressing through the first four Chapters, make sure to collect the three Haunted Cheeses (refer to Queso Serious).
  • Also make sure to purchase or collect the Daisy Vampire item. With this item, you earn one Daisy Petal with every kill. Collect enough Petals, and you will gain a new Daisy.

With this setup, enter the Cheese Dream in Chapter 5. Enemies there spawn endlessly and in large numbers. Keep defeating the hordes of enemies to collect Daisy Petals and eventually hold 20 Daisies at once, unlocking the trophy.

Just Throwing it Out There

Earn a star for every Weapon in the Guidebook

There are six weapons in total required for this trophy. Earning a star for each of them requires defeating a specific number of enemies with a single copy of each weapon.

  • Bone: Defeat 6 enemies in one use.
  • Hubcap: Defeat 10 enemies in one use.
  • Explosive Bunny: Defeat 6 enemies in one use.
  • Pufferfish: Defeat 7 enemies in one use.
  • Bird’s Nest: Defeat 6 enemies in one use (don’t throw the nest, just hold onto it!)
  • Rotten Apple: Defeat 5 enemies in one use.

All weapons except the Rotten Apple spawn quite frequently from different sources and can even be acquired from the mini ball machines.

The Rotten Apple is a bit trickier. To target-farm the required kills with it, you need some setup and a bit of luck. Start a new run and make your way to Chapter 4. On your way there, make sure to grab a Morsel with the Weapon – Pick up more morb, and increase its XP so that one more kill will evolve the Morsel.

In the transition from Chapter 4-1 to Chapter 4-2, make a back-up save (there is no NPC in the transition from Chapter 3 to 4 and you don’t want to have to run through the Marshes during each reload). Now, enter Chapter 4-2 and look for an area with at least six weaker enemies. You can now:

  1. Kill one enemy to evolve your Morsel carrying the Weapon – Pick up more morb trait. If you are lucky, it will spawn a Rotten Apple upon evolving.
  2. Shoot all the green plants in the area while looking for a Rotten Apple.
  3. If you don’t find a Rotten Apple either way, go into 4-3 and shoot the green plants there.

If you are not successful in finding a Rotten Apple, restore your back-up save and repeat these steps.

Once you have a Rotten Apple, either from your Morsel or from a plant, you still need quite some luck to get the required kills. When you pick up the Rotten Apple, a timer starts running. Once the timer is depleted, the Rotten Apple is used up and disappears. However, the timer stops whenever you are not actively holding the weapon, so make sure to leave it on the ground!

The strategy is now to lure five enemies total close to the Rotten Apple, then briefly grab it to create purple acid pools around you, and let the lured enemies walk into them and die.

A Curious Mind

Listen to every raccoon fart sound effect

Start a new run by heading into the sewers through the entrance to the right of the start. Pick up the card and select any Morsel. You can now hit the Raccoon lying nearby. Keep hitting it until the trophy pops.

OK, Starting From Now…

Try another run after losing once

This trophy unlocks when you start your next run after a failed run.

Escargot

Cook a snail

In any level with fire hazards (for example, timed fire tiles), push a snail onto the fire to earn this trophy.
